Gathering August 22, 2007

It was a night of wild weather:




And although the library is closed, the Dewey's Cafe is open - and on Wednesdays it's open later for our group (thanks, Karen!):






Courtney brought in a cute knit bunny, from Lorna's Lace (the wool and silk, I think):








Jeanne brought in a scarf she had woven on her loom - gorgeous work as always!




And Karen wore the fantastic sweater she went to Mexico to learn how to knit (it was a retreat) this past summer:

What a great group we had last night!



And people brought in their items from the recent workshop they're either finished with or in the process of finishing.

A Most Successful Workshop!

After a year of planning, the QC SnB workshop (co-sponsored by The Yarn Shoppe), we finally greeted our instructor Beth Brown-Reinsel on August 3rd and 4th!

And our participants had a great time - in fact, such a great time, that we've only photos of the first class of the two-day workshop. (My appreciation and thanks to Barb, for her photographic skills!)

Beth, thank you for a great workshop! Everyone had a wonderful time during the workshop and at the events before and after the time in class to meet you.

Once again, my heartfelt gratitude to Barb, Claire, Laurel, and Brenda for their help. I had serious health issues that prevented my attendance and their support helped to make a smooth running workshop. Ladies, as you know, y'all rock!

For those persons out there that may be thinking of putting on a workshop, we can't recommend Beth enough to you. A generous, kind, thoughtful, and patient instructor - she's wonderful with beginners to advanced knitters.

SnB Gathering, July 11, 2007

It was quite a group last evening! Especially since I got to photograph our lovely members with their projects!

Stitch and Pitch - August 13

Quad Cities SnB presents STITCH & PITCH WITH THE SWING

The Swing of the QC is hosting it's 1st annual Stitch & Pitch event offering box seat tickets behind the home plate net for fans to knit in our special Quad Cities SnB section.

Tickets are just $8 if purchased before August 6th. Please ask to be seated in the knitting section if calling for tickets & indicate you'd like to be part of the Quad Cities SnB group for the game.
